I’m Cathryn and am a self-described Farmer’s Trophy Wife! I live with my husband and our two kids on our 3rd generation farm/ranching operation and am known around these parts as the woman with the perfectly arched eyebrows hidden under my toque in -30 degree weather and the one who wears designer sunglasses while mowing the lawn. I’m a country girl living in town right now. My boys wanted to try life with a sidewalk but me, I miss life at the end of a dirt road. I miss my chickens, my horse Gypsy and the alfalfa fields outside my sewing room. My favorite look of all time might have been my nightgown, grandmother’s beaded cardigan and red cowboy boots out looking for a couple of horses that broke down a fence..My older son’s friend from town drove up in his BMW looked at us roaming 5 acres in the dark making whiny noises and said “do you guys do this every night? Yep, I miss my dirt road life…

Just stumbled on your site and LOVE it already! I am slightly the opposite..grew up on Dairy Farm in Super Small Town North Dakota. I then married a Rancher/Rodeo Man in a bit Bigger Small Town ND. I have always loved clothing & fashion, many times buying something to take it home & jazz it up. This summer I am hitting our Rodeos & Bullridings with Boots and Sundresses and leaving the Wranglers @ home!! Thanks for the inspiration! Can’t wait to share with my fellow Rodeo gals!

I think you should put on a fashion show – western inspired! It would be awesome and I would come! I’m getting tiered of some of the western clothes at “western stores” way too “Jazzed up in country dudds” for me. Loving the blog!

Your article in the Airdrie City View was torn out and left on my desk by a co-worker yesterday. Certainly glad it was. I love your site…I can relate…I wear designer glasses when I cut the lawn too!! There are more of us out there than I sometimes think…There’s nothing wrong with mixing in some city with a bit of country for a great look. The best of both world keeps us grounded and wondering how to educate our cousins in the city that farmers feed cities! We also love and care for our families, animals and land 365 days a year through flooding, drought, winter storms and all. I like your style Cathryn…keep up the great site!

As a newly recruited farmers (soon to be) wife, it’s nice to see some of my past loves on here ( dressing in something other than stained jeans and a flannel jacket). I too get to wear my former nice clothes to do chores! Keep up the good work!

I love your blog – a farmers wife I am well sort of in the way that most people inmy generation are – we both have jobs in town too. The trophy part – well some days, otherdays it certainly does not look like it. I am not sure how you are so together with two kids – my two year old is a handful but so much fun. Your blog inspires me, makes me smile, and reminds me that there are other women out there like my friends and I.
