Celebrating the moisture…

Since it has been raining and (mostly) snowing on and off for the last 2 weeks (YAY!!!), I thought I’d honor this occasion…I mean this moisture is LONG overdue and the farmers are doing dances as they religiously check their rain-gauges 4 to 5 times a day (and then phoning around to see what everyone else got).

Soooo…hmmm…what to do….what to do…..

I know, how about I share some of my favorite things in  BLUE?!

Get it? Moisture…blue…water…ok, it’s kind of a stretch…..

Blue Beach Glass Bath AccessoriesThis is new from Pottery Barn (I want to move into the catalog) and I LOVE it! Sea glass bathroom accessories…so pretty and would go soooo nicely with my planned bathroom reno concept!

Baja Outdoor Glassware, Set of 6

I also really like blue rimmed glassware…it reminds me of Mexico and margaritias….mmmmmmm……

This is a dining room done by (my favorite) Sarah Richardson. The turquoise is AMAZING!! I would love to have the courage to try this…but I think it’s a little too girly or fancy for on the farm. But I’ll attempt to talk my darling husband into this….wish me luck!

Turquoise Cross Ring

And this is self-explanitory…who doesn’t like turquoise jewellery?!?!

This gorgeous cross from The Junk Gypsy’s is one that I have hanging on my wall. I have started a cross collection and this one fit in beautifully!

I hope you enjoyed this post…brought to you by the color blue…and the letter M…..Have a great day!!

Sarapes?!

It may just be me but sarapes are going to be a big western fashion trend this spring/summer…I have seen them in several magazines  and am totally falling for this look!

Sarapes are also showing up in home decor….

I am trying to figure out how to incorporate this look into our home…next trip to Mexico will see me bringing home a few blankets to make into pillows for the guest room. And now I think I need these table linens for our dining room!

My latest obsessions…

Lately there have been a few things that I cannot seem to stop thinking about! So, I thought I’d tell you all about them and then I won’t be alone in obsessing over these FAB items!!!

  • Piggy Paint…..love, love, love this for my daughter. I have a VERY girly-girl (I wonder where she gets that from?!) and she asks everyday to paint her fingers. So of course I’ve been using my nail polish and thinking nothing of it…opps! The amount of toxins and chemicals in “grownup” polish is crazy and while I was in a new and very posh baby store in Camrose, AB (from Kicks to Kids), I found Piggy Paint. It is non-toxic, water-based and hypoallergenic and the colors are fantastic. So of course I bought my little girl one and promptly went on the website (piggypaint.com) and will be ordered more for stocking stuffers. I’ve also decided to toss all my old polish and share hers…if it’s healthy for her, I should be doing the same! Now all I have to do is decide on a color…”Forever Fancy” or “Girls Rule!”

  • What color to paint one of our bathrooms….It’s little and right off of our kitchen/porch (basically the one all our guests use). My incredible husband bought me a gorgeous blue and white porcelain sink on our last trip to Mexico (and then lugged it around for the rest of the day AND managed to get it home unbroken!!! LOVE HIM!) and I really want to use it in this bathroom and go for a Mexican/South-western theme. This is a very hot trend right now, not only in decor, but in clothing and accessories as well! (As pointed out in other blogs!!). I plan to hang my collection of crosses on one wall (all various colors and textiles) and I would LOVE a Mexican yellow or red, but worry that with a blue/white sink that will be too much. Maybe a light brown? Any suggestions??

  • Coffee…I’m 98% sure that the reason I can’t stop thinking about this is because I had my 2nd baby about 7 weeks ago! He’s not much of a sleeper and LOVES to eat, so I’m averaging about 1- 2 hours a night of sleep in row…not complaining but it does explain why I can’t stop obsessing over coffee ALL DAY!! I love all and any flavoured cream and adore specialty coffees from any coffee chain. Although I’ve come to realize I’m not that brave with regards to branching out in my choices, I mean if I’m going to pay $5 a cup, I want to know I will like it!

All of these are very random topics, but like I said, I can’t stop thinking about them and wanted to share! And I’m totally interested in YOUR “can’t stop thinking about it” items…maybe what you are making/giving for Christmas or just something you heard about or seen recently! I’d love for you to share!
