In our porch…

Welcome to our front porch and as any farm or ranch wife knows…this can make or break a woman.

Endless mud, dust, dog/cat/horse hair and cow manure is trekked in daily. Not to mention the numerous coats, hats, boots and stuff that is always needed, because it never fails that you put away the winter clothes and it snows…in June. Oh, and don’t forget the vaccination guns, gloves, bug spray, sunscreen and argh…..you get the drift!

Cute kid chaps that we found in Las Vegas and my husband’s old steer-riding rope.

I LOVE the longhorns…again, Vegas. That was a great shopping trip! I LOVE Cowboy Christmas!!

And our fabulous bench…I use this thing a million times a day, usually the car seat is sitting on top, and the hooks are a dream….my daughter can reach no problem!

This is my attempt at a Pottery Barn decorating trick…they always have photos tucked everywhere and I love the look.

(And yes, that’s my hubby steer-riding, I think he was about 13?)

My version of organizing…the vintage crates hold all my kid’s boots, shoes, mitts, etc.

My daughter can get out and put away her stuff easily!

Celebrating the moisture…

Since it has been raining and (mostly) snowing on and off for the last 2 weeks (YAY!!!), I thought I’d honor this occasion…I mean this moisture is LONG overdue and the farmers are doing dances as they religiously check their rain-gauges 4 to 5 times a day (and then phoning around to see what everyone else got).

Soooo…hmmm…what to do….what to do…..

I know, how about I share some of my favorite things in  BLUE?!

Get it? Moisture…blue…water…ok, it’s kind of a stretch…..

Blue Beach Glass Bath AccessoriesThis is new from Pottery Barn (I want to move into the catalog) and I LOVE it! Sea glass bathroom accessories…so pretty and would go soooo nicely with my planned bathroom reno concept!

Baja Outdoor Glassware, Set of 6

I also really like blue rimmed glassware…it reminds me of Mexico and margaritias….mmmmmmm……

This is a dining room done by (my favorite) Sarah Richardson. The turquoise is AMAZING!! I would love to have the courage to try this…but I think it’s a little too girly or fancy for on the farm. But I’ll attempt to talk my darling husband into this….wish me luck!

Turquoise Cross Ring

And this is self-explanitory…who doesn’t like turquoise jewellery?!?!

This gorgeous cross from The Junk Gypsy’s is one that I have hanging on my wall. I have started a cross collection and this one fit in beautifully!

I hope you enjoyed this post…brought to you by the color blue…and the letter M…..Have a great day!!

I love sleeping in…

I adore sleeping in…

I can’t honestly remember the last time I slept in.

……….but anyways.

My favorite is when the wind is howling, the snow is blowing and I am snuggled deep down under my quilts and zzzzzzzzz……….

Bedroom Sixteen

I love the blue and gold…and the wheat in the windows.

This is my very favorite…..especially the leopard print pillow!!!!!!!!

Only Ralph Lauren could mix plaid and leopard and pull it off.

I think I’m going to decorate our master bedroom like this….

Happiness…

About 4 months ago I got these pillows from Pottery Barn and everytime I look at them I smile…

I discovered them in the spring and fell in love (you might have noticed that I do that alot!), but at the time the price tag kept me from purchasing. I drifted in and out of the store over the following months and kept an eye on my babies. Then lo and behold the day finally came that they went on sale!!!!!

Oh joyous day!

I pondered over what shape and how many and finally bought four…What I couldn’t do however, was pay an arm and a leg for the inserts….As much as I ADORE Pottery Barn, I will admit that they get you coming and going. The pillowcases were on sale but the inserts most certainly were not…so I drifted into my local Walmart and bought 2 $15.00 pillows and 2 bags of quilting fluff. I simply stuffed my new treasures with the cheap solutions and saved myself around $150.00!

The colors are gorgeous and they are made of New Zealand wool…pretty & durable….love!
